9 Things About Who I Am and What I Do

Writer's picture: Danny @thebodytechDanny @thebodytech

1. My name is Danny. I'm a personal trainer and a sports massage therapist from Wolverhampton, UK.

2. I enjoy hiking anywhere and everywhere (especially scenic and spacious places). I do enjoy playing and watching football, training in mixed martial arts to keep me fit and ready, running the trails, gym training,

I love adventures and exploring. Spending time with the family and running and cycling with the dogs is number one.

3. As a personal trainer I work with a wide range of clients to achieve a common goal, to become an updated version of themselves. A focus for me and my clients is being able to move well, reduce pain and breathe better.

4. I work with athletes who wish to improve their performance. I have done years and years of studying and practising various sports such as

football, MMA, running, etc. which I feel as a personal trainer, gives me a great insight on how to improve an individuals performance.

5. I have a different outlook on how to 'upgrade' the body and mind with different methods of training. Each individual will have different needs and they need to be considered when exercising. Depending on what the need is and what they do for sport or a living, we can then design a bespoke plan to work from.

6. I look at the body and mind as one unit, not a number of individual units. For example, if the person feels highly stressed and their body is tired, we don't go for a high stressor training workout which will put further stress and then have a negative outcome. We would go through low stressor exercises and have a greater focus on breathing and movements which elicit the recovery process.

7. As a sports massage therapist I support people in the repair and recovery of their bodies. Whether it's doing physical assessments to find a problem and diagnosis then to perform proper treatment or working with someone to maintain a strong and supple body from a busy life.

8. The first thing I will do is perform an initial assessment with my client to understand the problem and find out what is doing what and how I can then treat it. I get straight to the point. There's no point going around the Wrekin when you can get straight to the point. We find the root causes or problems and we work from there.

9. I feel that anyone and everyone can benefit from the whole package. That's personal training, sports massage therapy, recovery sessions etc. to optimise human potential.

Thanks for reading. Hopefully now you know a bit about myself and how I feel I can help you to progress physically and mentally.
